Sector: Manufacturing / Automotive Location: Norfolk Employment Type: Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am > 4:30pm iSQ Recruitment is supporting an innovative UK engineering and manufacturing business with the search for an experienced Production Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of manufacturing improvement projects and working across New Product Introduction (NPI), Production Engineering and Continuous Improvement within a highly advanced manufacturing environment. Working closely with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Production Technicians, you'll play a key role in supporting products from prototype through to full production, improving manufacturing processes and ensuring efficient, safe and repeatable production methods. Responsibilities Develop and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing productsSupport products transitioning from prototype and low-volume manufacture into full productionAssist in the design and development of production lines, assembly processes and manufacturing methodsWork closely with Design Engineers and Production Technicians during prototype builds to resolve manufacturing challengesProvide Design for Manufacture (DFM) feedback to improve product manufacturabilityProduce manufacturing documentation including Work Instructions, Process Flows, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Machine Packs and Risk AssessmentsInvestigate production issues and implement effective process improvementsSource and specify production equipment, tooling and manufacturing solutionsSupport Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the production environmentAssist with production line layouts, factory improvements and equipment integrationTrain colleagues on manufacturing processes, tooling and best practiceEnsure manufacturing activities are carried out in line with Health & Safety requirements Benefits: 30 days holiday including Bank HolidaysPrivate healthcare and medical insurance following successful completion of probationCompany pension schemeOn-site parkingOngoing training and developmentOpportunity to work on cutting-edge electrification technologies Skills & Experience: Minimum three years' experience within a Manufacturing or Production Engineering environmentExperience developing and improving manufacturing processes within an NPI, Production Engineering or Process Engineering roleExperience managing engineering or manufacturing improvement projectsProfessional Engineering or Technical qualification (HNC, HND or equivalent)Strong understanding of manufacturing documentation including Work Instructions, PFMEAs, Control Plans and Risk AssessmentsAbility to confidently interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings and Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)Good understanding of manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing principlesExcellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skillsConfident using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Project and PowerPoint Desirable: Experience within automotive, aerospace, electronics, medical device or other advanced manufacturing environmentsKnowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processesElectrical or electronic knowledge to support production or test equipment developmentExperience working with Creo engineering drawingsUnderstanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principlesExperience supporting production line design, equipment integration or factory layout improvements If you're looking for a varied Production Engineering role where you can influence manufacturing processes, manage your own projects and support innovative products from prototype through to full production, we'd love to hear from you.
