AI Product Engineer

AI Engineer (Founding) - Hybrid, Berlin We are working with a fast-growing AI-native startup in Berlin, looking for a Founding AI Engineer to own LLM workflow design, agent orchestration, and AI reliability in production. This is a specialist hire alongside the founding engineering team - you'll define how autonomous agents reason, act, and stay reliable at enterprise scale, working directly with the CTO from day one. Required profile: Strong startup or scale-up experience, ideally at an AI-native product company (not a research lab)Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered agents or workflows to real production usersProficient in both TypeScript and Python - backend and product-adjacent workStrong evals mindset - golden datasets, online metrics, tracing, regression detectionComfortable owning cost, latency, and reliability trade-offs at production scaleComfortable working in ambiguity and fast-moving founding-team environments Required tools / stack exposure: Vercel AI SDK or equivalent modern AI stackOpenAI / Azure OpenAI, embeddings, vector storesObservability tooling such as Langfuse or similarAgent orchestration - tools, control flows, retries, safety checks, graceful degradationNext.js, workers, APIs Required domain experience: Production LLM/AI systems is mandatory (academic or hobby-project AI experience is not sufficient) Compensation: €80k – €130k base per annum + meaningful equity If this sounds like you, and you would like to know more, please apply, we would love to chat to you.
