Job Title: Senior Embedded Systems Engineer Location: Cork, Ireland (T23 YY09) Contract Duration: 12 Months (01 July 2026 – 30 June 2027) Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team in Cork, Ireland. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded software development, ARM-based platforms, Linux/Zephyr environments, and multimedia/audio systems. You will work on advanced embedded solutions involving system development, debugging, performance optimization, and open-source contributions. Key Responsibilities Develop, debug, and optimize embedded software on ARM-based processors, MCU-based SoCs, and DSP platforms.Work on embedded systems running Linux, Zephyr, and related platforms.Design, develop, and debug Linux kernel components and device drivers.Analyze and optimize power and performance aspects of embedded systems.Collaborate on multimedia/audio solutions involving frameworks, drivers, and hardware interfaces.Contribute to open-source projects and follow upstream development practices.Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready embedded solutions.Required Skills & Experience ✅ 5–8 years of experience in Embedded Systems Development & Debugging ✅ Strong programming experience in: C / C++Python✅ Hands-on experience with: ARM-based embedded platformsLinux kernel development & debuggingZephyr RTOS architectureDevice driver developmentEmbedded software bring-up and troubleshootingMultimedia / Audio Expertise (Preferred) Experience with audio frameworks such as:PipeWireALSAUnderstanding of audio signal processing conceptsExperience with audio use cases:PlaybackRecordingVoice activationVoice callsAudio context detectionKnowledge of audio interfaces:I2STDMSoundWireExperience with audio peripheral drivers:CODECsSpeaker amplifiersDigital microphonesOpen Source Experience Contributions or maintenance experience with open-source projects such as:LinuxZephyrALSAPipeWireUnderstanding of open-source contribution workflows, community collaboration, and upstreaming processes.Experience transitioning open-source technologies into commercial products.Why Join Us?
