We're hiring a Cloud & Data Security Engineer to join a growing cybersecurity function supporting a large enterprise environment. This is a highly hands-on role focused on strengthening cloud and data security controls, improving governance processes, and helping drive a secure-by-design approach across modern cloud platforms. Contract / 12 monthsHybrid / DublinIrish citizenship / Stamp 1G / Stamp 4 / EU passport required The Role As a Cloud & Data Security Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and improving cloud and data security controls across enterprise environments. You'll work closely with technology, data, privacy, legal, and governance stakeholders to reduce risk, improve security posture, and support remediation initiatives. This role combines cloud security engineering, data protection, governance, and security architecture reviews, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical implementation and stakeholder collaboration. Key Responsibilities Implement and manage cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environmentsEngineer and govern data protection solutions using Microsoft Purview or similar platformsDrive remediation of security findings and control gapsSupport Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) initiativesCollaborate with Data, Privacy, Legal, and IT teams to implement effective security controlsContribute to incident remediation and security improvement activitiesReview cloud and data platform designs to ensure secure-by-design principles are followedHelp develop security standards, reporting, and continuous improvement processesSupport secure adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-related use cases Required Experience Experience in cloud security, security engineering, or infrastructure securityHands-on experience securing AWS, Azure, or GCP environmentsStrong practical knowledge of IAM, network security, encryption, and workload protectionExperience implementing data protection controls within Microsoft Purview or comparable platformsExperience managing remediation activities and resolving security compliance findingsStrong understanding of data classification, DLP, encryption, least-privilege access, and secure data sharingExperience working with cross-functional stakeholders to implement security controlsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills Nice to Have Experience with DSPM, data classification, information rights management, or data governance toolingExposure to AI security concepts and data protection considerations for AI-enabled environmentsExperience supporting secure cloud transformation initiatives Interested?
