The Opportunity This opportunity is for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering team developing the next generation of trading technology. This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys building exceptional user experiences while also contributing to robust backend services. Approximately 70% of the role focuses on Front End development, with the remaining 30% dedicated to Java backend engineering. Key Responsibilities Design and develop modern, responsive applications using React, JavaScript and TypeScript.Build intuitive user interfaces capable of visualising complex, real-time financial data.Develop scalable backend services using Java.Design, build and integrate RESTful APIs and WebSocket services for real-time data streaming.Develop high-performance applications capable of processing large volumes of live market data.Work with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.Contribute to software architecture, system design and technical decision making.Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices.Collaborate closely with experienced software engineers within an Agile development environment.Continuously improve application performance, scalability and reliability. About You We're looking for engineers who genuinely enjoy solving difficult technical problems and have a passion for building high-quality software. Essential Skills & Experience 5+ years' commercial software engineering experience.Strong commercial experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.Backend development experience using Java.Experience building and consuming REST APIs and WebSocket services.Experience working with relational databases including PostgreSQL or MySQL.Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles and modern development practices.Experience using Git and collaborative software development workflows. Education We're particularly interested in candidates with a strong academic background and an excellent record of achievement.
