Head of DevOps | Platform Engineering 📍 Sofia, Bulgaria | Hybrid 🌍 International Product Fintech Company We are looking for an experienced Head of DevOps to lead the company’s DevOps and Platform Engineering function. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You will define the technical direction while remaining actively involved in architecture, infrastructure decisions and complex technical challenges. The organisation consists of 3 teams with approximately 10 engineers in total. Three Team Leads will report directly to you and manage the engineers within their respective teams. Your role Define the DevOps and Platform Engineering strategy and roadmap.( product experience is a must)Lead, coach and develop three Team Leads. ( must have experience leading Team Leaders/Managers, depending on the organization)Oversee approximately 10 DevOps, Platform and SRE engineers through the Team Leads.Set the technical direction for the AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure.Participate in architecture reviews and critical technical decisions.Improve platform scalability, reliability, security and performance.Strengthen observability, incident management and SRE practices.Drive infrastructure automation, GitOps, CI/CD and cloud cost optimisation.Introduce AI-assisted engineering and operational workflows.Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product and Security leadership. Technology environment AWS · Kubernetes/EKS · Terraform · Helm · FluxCD · Jenkins · Kong · Datadog · Prometheus · Grafana What we are looking for 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure or SRE.Proven leadership experience managing Team Leads or Engineering Managers.Hands-on expertise in AWS and Kubernetes/EKS.Strong knowledge of Terraform, Helm, GitOps and CI/CD.Experience scaling reliable and secure cloud-native platforms.Strong understanding of observability, incident response, networking and cloud security.The ability to combine strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement.Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.Strong usage in AI-powered engineering and automation.
