Software Engineer - BI & Data (DRWN) Job title - Software Engineer - BI & Data Client Location - Utrecht, Netherlands Remote work offering - 60% remote (2 days/week onsite, 3 days remote) Client Industry - Data & Analytics / SaaS Technology Contract Length - 6 months, with intent to extend Contract type - Freelance / Contract Project focus You'll join a small AI/Data engineering team that scrapes and enriches external data, loads it into a data warehouse, and surfaces insights to customers through BI dashboards. This is a generalist engineering role with a BI specialism: dashboard work is the smaller part of the day-to-day, and the majority of your time will be spent on backend (Java/Python) and data pipeline engineering. You'll work alongside two Java engineers, an AI engineer, and a data engineer, on an AWS-based stack. Key skills and Experience required Strong Java and/or Python experience applied to data pipeline and data-processing work, not purely application/backend developmentAdvanced SQL: complex queries, performance tuning, and working with warehouse data modelsHands-on experience building dashboards in a BI tool such as QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker (QuickSight experience is a strong plus, but not essential)Comfortable working with data warehouses, transformations, and data quality in an analytical contextClear communicator, able to explain data and system behaviour to technical and non-technical stakeholdersNice to have: AWS data services (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift), exposure to ETL/data scraping pipelines, cloud-native and CI/CD experienceIf this role is of interest, please apply with an updated CV.
