Java Software Engineer

They are now seeking a Java Software Engineer to join a collaborative team building scalable, high-availability backend systems used by customers around the world. This is a fantastic opportunity for a backend engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving system performance, and working within a modern cloud-native environment. The Opportunity You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining critical backend services that support enterprise-scale platforms. Working within a highly collaborative engineering team, you'll contribute to major backend modernisation initiatives spanning application architecture, database optimisation, infrastructure improvements, and CI/CD enhancements. This role offers exposure to modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, and large-scale distributed systems, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across the full software delivery lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend servicesBuild and support integrations across distributed systems and data platformsContribute to backend modernisation and continuous improvement initiativesSupport automation across build, deployment, and operational processesWork within cloud-based environments using modern DevOps and GitOps practicesCollaborate with engineering and reliability teams to ensure platform stability and performanceParticipate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviewsDrive best practices across testing, monitoring, observability, and software qualityTroubleshoot production issues and support ongoing operational excellence initiatives About You 3+ years' experience in Java backend developmentStrong understanding of backend system design, scalability, and performanceExperience building, deploying, and maintaining production software systemsComfortable taking ownership of features from design through to deploymentStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExperience working within Agile development environmentsAbility to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative engineering teamsPassion for learning new technologies and continuously improving technical skills Benefits Salary: Up to £60kHybrid workingBonus25 days PTO + stat daysPrivate healthcarePensionL&D opportunities To find out more about this opportunity, hit Apply or reach out to a member of the Enso Recruitment team today!✉️📞
