AI Engineer - Forward Deployed

Caspian One has partnered with an exciting AI Tech Firm looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join their delivery ecosystem, with a strong preference for specialists based in Toronto or the surrounding region. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, client delivery, and real world problem solving. You will be responsible for taking AI solutions from concept through to production, working closely with customers to integrate systems, navigate complexity, and ensure successful adoption. This is not a research role. It is a hands on delivery position focused on building, deploying, and scaling AI solutions that solve tangible business problems. What You Will Be Doing Designing and deploying AI driven workflows using large language models and agent based architecturesWorking directly with client systems to connect, map, and contextualise distributed data sources without heavy data ingestionBuilding context layers that reflect business rules, proprietary data, and operational processesDeveloping production ready solutions that integrate with existing enterprise environmentsCollaborating with clients through the full lifecycle, from initial use case definition through to deployment and adoptionHandling complex delivery scenarios including change management, stakeholder alignment, and technical challengesSupporting rapid delivery cycles, typically delivering working solutions within 6 to 12 weeksContributing to ongoing expansion by identifying additional use cases and opportunities within existing clientsEnsuring solutions meet defined service levels where managed applications are requiredWorking closely with distributed teams and partners across North America and internationally What We Are Looking For Proven experience delivering AI or machine learning solutions into production environmentsStrong experience working with large language models (LLM's), agent based systems, or intelligent workflow automationAbility to work with real world, messy data across multiple systems and environmentsExperience integrating with APIs, enterprise platforms, and distributed data sourcesStrong understanding of how to move from proof of concept to scalable, production ready systemsComfort working directly with clients, including managing expectations and navigating complex delivery environmentsExperience working through change management and getting solutions successfully adoptedAbility to operate independently while collaborating across a wider teamA pragmatic, delivery focused mindset with a strong bias towards outcomes Nice to Have Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated industriesExposure to value engineering or ROI driven solution designExperience working in consulting or client facing delivery rolesFamiliarity with building or deploying AI solutions within secure client environments Working Model First week - Intensive training programme bringing you up to speed with the product and expectations around delivery.Toronto based specialists are strongly preferred, with a hybrid or onsite presence where possibleNo visa sponsorship available at this timeThis role is typically delivered on a contract basis, with long term extensions for high performing individualsInitial projects are usually 6 to 12 weeks, with strong opportunity for ongoing work so contracts are released 6-12months.
