Embedded Software Engineers (Freelance) - Bavaria A large-scale engineering programme is growing its development capability in Bavaria and is looking for multiple headcount of experienced Embedded Software Engineers to join a team working on complex, safety-focused technology. The Role You’ll become part of a cross-functional engineering team and take responsibility for developing software components from the early design stages through to integration and testing. The work is likely to include: Building embedded applications and system components in C.Developing software for microcontrollers and resource-constrained platforms.Working with RTOS environments and real-time software architectures.Getting involved in hardware-facing development, including drivers, board support packages and system-level software.Turning system specifications and engineering requirements into production-ready software.Helping define and refine software structures and technical solutions.Connecting application software with hardware, middleware and other system components.Investigating defects, performing root-cause analysis and resolving complex software issues.Supporting integration, system testing and software verification.Reviewing code and technical designs with other members of the engineering team.Working alongside electronics, systems, test and verification specialists.Helping improve development processes, engineering standards and software quality.Taking ownership of assigned development activities throughout the project lifecycle. Your background should include most of the following: Professional experience in embedded software engineering.Strong programming experience with C.Experience working with microcontrollers or comparable embedded computing platforms.Practical knowledge of real-time operating systems.Experience with low-level or hardware-oriented software development.Understanding of software architecture and design for embedded environments.Experience diagnosing and debugging software at system level.Familiarity with structured software development, testing and review processes.An engineering or computer science degree, or equivalent professional experience.Strong written and spoken English.
