About The Role
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team at Thüringer Aufbaubank.
In this role, you will be instrumental in managing, optimizing, and expanding our web-based infrastructure and applications.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure seamless deployment, continuous integration, and reliable operation of our web applications, aligning with modern DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
You will collaborate closely with software developers and system administrators to streamline operations, reduce deployment times, and enhance system stability.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational background in computer science, information technology, or related fields, complemented by extensive practical experience in DevOps environments.
Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, along with experience in CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitLab CI, is essential.
Familiarity with Java-based web applications, Nginx configuration as a reverse proxy and load balancer, and relational databases like Oracle and PostgreSQL will be advantageous.
Candidates should demonstrate strong skills in Linux system administration, containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting languages including Python and Bash.
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like CheckMK and Splunk is also desirable.
The ability to quickly learn new technologies, combined with analytical and reliable working habits, is crucial.
Excellent communication skills in German and good command of English are required to effectively collaborate within our diverse team.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of the operation, enhancement, and automation of existing infrastructure, ensuring alignment with DevOps methodologies and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.Manage and improve continuous delivery pipelines for web applications, including maintaining and developing GitLab-CI pipelines and deployment procedures.Support software developers by providing DevOps expertise to reduce deployment cycles and improve overall efficiency from development to production.Monitor the ongoing operation of web applications, proactively identify issues, and support patching and vulnerability management processes for application components.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation solutions, optimize system performance, and ensure high availability and security of infrastructure.Assist in the integration of container technologies and scripting to streamline deployment workflows and system management.Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives within the IT department.
