DevOps & Architecture Manager

At Aviva Services Excellence Centre, we're looking for an experienced DevOps & Architecture Manager to lead a team of DevOps Engineers and Solution Architects supporting strategic initiatives across Aviva's UK business. This role is ideal for a technology leader who enjoys building high-performing teams and driving DevOps excellence. You'll have the opportunity to influence both technology and people, helping shape the future of cloud engineering and architecture at Aviva. What will you be doing? Lead, mentor, and develop a team of DevOps Engineers and Solution ArchitectsProvide both strategic direction and technical guidance to ensure high-quality deliveryDrive adoption of modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, automation, and CI/CD pipelinesPromote a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvementExecute recruitment, performance management, coaching, and career development within the teamCollaborate with technical and business stakeholders across international teamsGuide the design and delivery of secure, resilient, and scalable cloud-native solutionsContribute to architectural decisions, operational excellence, and cost optimisation initiatives What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience leading technical teams within DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Development, or ArchitectureExcellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skillsStrong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD practices, and modern software engineeringExperience with the following technologies will be plus:AWS and/or AzureKubernetes (EKS)Azure DevOps, Jenkins, HelmTerraform, PackerAnsible, PuppetBash and/or PowerShellKnowledge of modern architectural patterns and cloud-native solutionsExperience working in Agile, cross-functional, and multinational environments What Will Help You Succeed Strong leadership and coaching abilitiesA customer-focused mindset with a passion for quality and continuous improvementExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsThe ability to remain calm and effective when managing incidents, risks, and competing prioritiesA collaborative approach and the ability to inspire teams to achieve outstanding results Why Join Us?
