Backend Software Engineer (Python)

Due to the nature of the project, we require Visa independent candidates only. We are not sponsoring or transferring any work visas. Candidate MUST be in United States and have valid work authorization. We're looking for a product-minded Backend Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience building customer-facing software. You'll play a key role in designing, building, and scaling the core platform that powers our web, mobile, and admin applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment, enjoys owning problems end-to-end, and is comfortable making technical decisions with minimal oversight. If you've worked on AI-powered products, LLM applications, or PropTech solutions, that's a strong plus. Required experience: 5+ years of professional experience building customer-facing software products.Experience working in a startup or small engineering team, with significant ownership of features or systems.Proven experience building and maintaining backend APIs for consumer-facing web and mobile applications.Experience integrating production systems with third-party APIs and external services.Demonstrated ability to improve, refactor, and scale existing or rapidly built codebases—not just greenfield development.Comfortable working independently with minimal product or engineering oversight. Technical Skills: Strong backend development experience with Python.Solid understanding of REST APIs, system design, and backend architecture.Experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design.Familiarity with modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, or React.Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release automation.Experience using AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows to improve engineering productivity. Nice to Have: Experience building or integrating LLM-powered applications or AI agents.Exposure to PropTech, real estate technology, or property management platforms.Experience with cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and production operations. What You'll Do: Own, build, and evolve the core backend APIs powering our web, mobile, and admin platforms.Design, develop, and enhance our LLM-powered platform, Leasa, to deliver increasingly valuable experiences for renters and property operators.Build scalable, performant data models that power analytics and reporting.Improve the reliability, scalability, and observability of third-party integrations, including property management systems, CRMs, and access control platforms.Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, CI/CD improvements, and release automation.Collaborate closely with a small, high-performing engineering team to shape product direction, solve complex technical challenges, and ship impactful features from concept to production.Contribute across the stack when needed, supporting frontend integrations and platform improvements.
