Primary Objectives Design, build and maintain secure, scalable applications, APIs, integrations and technical services.Translate business and technical requirements into practical, maintainable solutions.Develop solutions using PHP, Python and modern web technologies.Support Linux-based application environments and Microsoft Azure services.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.Investigate complex application, database, integration and infrastructure issues.Improve system reliability, security, performance, monitoring and operational efficiency.Maintain technical documentation and provide guidance to other technology team members. Key Competencies And Experience At least three years’ experience developing and supporting enterprise applications, including experience in a senior developer, technical engineering, systems analyst or technical lead capacity.Strong PHP experience, including native PHP and Laravel development.Experience with Python for scripting, automation, APIs, integrations or data processing.Strong Microsoft SQL Server skills, including database design, complex queries and performance optimisation.Experience with JavaScript and jQuery, with exposure to React, Next.js or another modern frontend framework.Experience designing, consuming and supporting REST APIs and system integrations.Experience supporting Linux environments, including command-line administration, Bash, systemd, permissions, logging and troubleshooting.Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services such as App Services, Virtual Machines, Functions, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Managed Identities, networking and monitoring.Experience creating and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or a comparable platform.Proficiency with Git, including branching, pull requests, code reviews and merge workflows.Understanding of secure development, identity and access management, secrets management and cloud security.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities, work with limited supervision and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Desirable Experience Experience with Docker, infrastructure monitoring, application logging and observability platforms.Experience designing and supporting Model Context Protocol (MCP) services, including tools, resources and prompts.Experience integrating enterprise applications with generative AI platforms, large language models or AI APIs.Familiarity with Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI APIs or comparable platforms. Understanding of AI integration patterns, including authentication, permissions, context management, data security and responsible AI principles. Over and above, you'll have the ability to act as a consultant – offering technical insights, sharing your knowledge, and collaborating with clients. Being a Melbourne based organisation, we're looking for our team to be based locally.
