About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the foundation of Jageer.ca.This is not a role where you only receive tickets and write code. You will help shape the product, architecture, data model, AI workflows, engineering standards, and customer experience from the ground up.You should be comfortable working in an early-stage environment where there is more ambiguity than process. What You’ll DoBuild core product features for Jageer.ca, from discovery to launch.Design and implement backend services, APIs, data models, and search experiences.Build AI-assisted workflows for property search, comparison, summarization, and qualification.Work with real estate data, market data, location data, and user inputs.Improve system quality through testing, observability, performance tuning, and clean architecture.Create simple internal tools for content, property data, and operations.Write technical proposals and participate in architecture reviews.Review code and raise the engineering bar.Use AI tools daily to improve speed, quality, and leverage.Help define the engineering culture, standards, and product direction. QualificationsStrong software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems.Strong fundamentals in at least one general-purpose programming language.Experience designing APIs, data models, and backend services.Experience with relational databases and the ability to reason about performance.Comfortable working across product, backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure boundaries.Strong written and verbal communication.Experience using AI tools as part of your software development workflow.Ability to work from or near Caledon, Ontario in a hybrid role. Nice to HaveExperience with real estate, marketplaces, search, maps, listings, or data-heavy platforms.Experience with AI applications, LLMs, RAG, agent workflows, embeddings, or prompt/tool design.Experience with geospatial data, search ranking, or recommendation systems.Experience with cloud infrastructure, observability, CI/CD, and production operations.Experience in early-stage startups or zero-to-one product development.
