Software Engineer

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer based in Canada to serve as the Technical Lead and Compliance Architect for a SOX compliance assessment initiative. This is a remote role working closely with engineering team based in California. You will evaluate the current architecture of a data analytics infrastructure, design the target-state compliance architecture, and define the recommended implementation path to meet SOX and ITGC requirements. Key Responsibilitie s• Assess existing architecture and identify SOX/ITGC compliance gap s• Design the target-state compliance architecture for a data analytics platfor m• Translate regulatory requirements into scalable system design s• Lead technical trade-offs and cross-team architecture discussion s• Author architecture decision records (ADRs), design docs, and implementation roadma p• Partner with engineering and program management to deliver a comprehensive plan by end of initiativ e Minimum Qualificatio ns• 8+ years of software engineering experience with platform/infrastructure architectu re• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems with strong security and access contro ls• Understanding of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and compliance-driven architectur es• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Pyth on• Experience working in data analytics or data platform environmen ts• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical initiativ es Preferred Qualificati ons• Experience with SOX, SOC 2, FedRAMP, or PCI DSS• Familiarity with audit processes and compliance evidence collect ion• Experience with CI/CD compliance controls and infrastructure-as-c ode• Background in IAM, zero-trust architecture, or secrets managem ent• Knowledge of ISO 27001 or NIST framewo rks
