Backend Engineer

Job Title: Backend Engineer Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain cloud-native backend microservices using Java (Spring Boot) or Kotlin for Trade Finance applications.Design and implement REST/gRPC APIs, enterprise integrations, and event-driven solutions using Kafka and IBM MQ.Build and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, migrations, and transactional queries while ensuring high performance.Develop comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests, ensuring high code quality and production readiness.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement complex Trade Finance business rules, support production operations, and drive continuous engineering improvements. Key Skills Required: Strong hands-on experience with Java (11+/17+), Spring Boot, and backend microservices development.Expertise in REST APIs, PostgreSQL, SQL optimization, and database migration tools such as Flyway or Liquibase.Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, event-driven architecture, and enterprise messaging systems.Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and cloud-native development practices (AWS/Azure preferred).Strong understanding of testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, Pact/Spring Cloud Contract) and Agile software development methodologies.
