The short versionVesselFront builds an AI weather-routing and voyage-optimization platform for commercial fleets, utilizing neurosymbolic, multi-agent voyage optimization processes that pairs learned patterns from millions of nautical miles with the hard constraints of physics, regulation, and vessel limits.
Every recommendation is explainable, auditable, and validated against real voyages.
We're looking for a hands-on infrastructure engineer who writes real code to own the cloud estate behind that compute-heavy routing platform: a multi-account AWS setup, a large Terraform codebase, and a fleet of containerized and serverless services.
This is an infrastructure role, but we expect you to build and maintain services, not just wire modules together.

What you'll actually work onA few things you'll work on:
A substantial Terraform estate: multiple AWS accounts plus the security layer, owned and maintained as real code.CI/CD workflows: building, hardening and speeding up the pipelines the whole team ships through.Operational engineering that's genuinely code: you write and maintain services, not just glue modules together.Security hardening and cost/latency tuning on infrastructure that moves large scientific datasets.Cost-driven architecture reviews: identify and propose architectural changes across the AWS estate that cut spend without sacrificing performance or reliability.Environment: a multi-account AWS setup, a large Terraform codebase, and containerized + serverless services (Docker, ECS/Fargate) supporting a compute-heavy routing platform.
You should have3+ years in DevOps / SRE / platform roles on AWS, with real Terraform ownership; not just consuming modules, but designing and maintaining them.Container fluency: Docker, ECS/Fargate, task definitions, health checks, and the debugging hat that comes with them.The ability to write and maintain services; you're comfortable in real code, not only configuration.Clear communication and ownership.
You take a loosely-specified problem, ask the right questions, and drive it to a safe, working outcome across teams.Presentation skills.
You can present technical work clearly to engineers and non-technical stakeholders alike, and are comfortable representing the team externally, including at meetups or conferences.Agile/sprint workflow and Git-based collaboration.An AI-first mindset; you use AI-assisted tooling as a daily multiplier for writing code, scripting, and debugging infrastructure, with sound judgment about when to trust it.
Curious about operating the AI and compute workloads this platform runs on, not just the plumbing around them.Nice-to-havesMulti-account AWS governance: Organizations, Config, centralized backup.Data-engineering exposure: moving and shaping large datasets.Identity infrastructure: Keycloak or OIDC.Observability tooling: CloudWatch alarms, structured logging.ML / compute workloads: SageMaker, batch/step orchestration.A migration mindset: AMI/EOL upgrades, storage offloads, blue-green cutovers done safely.Hands-on agentic AI experience: you've built and shipped something agentic, not just called an LLM API (tool-using agents, multi-step workflows, or orchestration), and understand the design thinking behind it: when to hand a model control, how to keep it grounded, and where autonomy needs guardrails.
