Java Software Engineer

Summary We are looking for a skilled Senior Java/Node Software Engineer to join our Web Scraper Team responsible for extracting hotel rate and pricing data from various websites. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java, working experience in Node.js, and a solid background working with web scraping and data extraction applications. You must be capable of building scalable, reliable, and high-performance scraping solutions while handling large-scale data collection systems. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and solving complex scraping and data-processing challenges. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.Professional Experience 6 years of professional software development experience.Strong hands-on experience in production-grade Java development.Active working experience with Node.js in backend application development.Proven hands-on experience with web scraping or large-scale data extraction projects.Experience providing production support, application monitoring, and real-time troubleshooting.Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain web scraping applications to extract hotel rate and pricing data from multiple external websites.Build scalable, reliable, and high-performance scraping solutions utilizing both Java and Node.js.Provide comprehensive production support by monitoring applications, troubleshooting active issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing timely fixes to ensure high system availability and reliability.Analyze complex website structures and implement optimal scraping strategies for both dynamic and static web pages.Handle end-to-end data parsing, transformation, and validation processes.Monitor and troubleshoot scheduled scraping jobs as well as underlying data quality issues.Optimize overall scraping performance, reliability, and built-in failure recovery mechanisms.Work closely with engineering and business teams to support cross-functional data requirements.Maintain and enhance critical backend integrations and database operations.Required Technical Skills Strong experience in several of the following areas: Core Backend Development: Strong hands-on experience in Java development (must-have) and professional backend development experience with Node.js.Web Scraping Expertise: Deep understanding of website structures, DOM parsing, browser automation, and hands-on experience with web scraping frameworks.Advanced Scraping Mechanics: Proven ability to handle dynamic websites, pagination, cookies, session states, and complex anti-bot challenges.Database Systems: Strong MySQL database experience (must-have), including writing complex SQL queries and handling large datasets.Data Formats & APIs: High proficiency working with external APIs, HTML, JSON, XML, and standard web data structures. Nice to Hav ePractical knowledge or previous experience with Perl (considered a strong advantage).Prior experience working specifically in hotel rate scraping or pricing aggregation platforms.Direct technical exposure to cloud platforms, particularly Azure.Familiarity with enterprise scheduling systems, job monitoring tools, and automation workflows.Specialized knowledge of proxy networks, headless browsers, and scraping infrastructure management.Soft Skill sStrong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting abilities.High level of autonomy with the ability to work independently and take full ownership of tasks.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Quick learner with high adaptability to frequently changing website structures and business requirements .
