Java Software Engineer

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Java Software Engineer for a prominent client of ours.  This position is located in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO (100% On site).  Details of the position are as follows: Job Details: Pay: $73.35/hr to Start!!12-month assignment, possibility extension based upon performance and budget. Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (On Site)Position will be responsible for full life-cycle development of complex mathematical algorithms (such as tracking, correlation, guidance, battle management, and radar management) for Java-based military applications. Support full software development lifecycle including generating design artifacts, implementing software changes, supporting design and code reviews, software testing, and resolution of issues found during testing. Actively participate in agile planning and execution using established processes. Software Requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems. Develop, select, tailor and deploy integration and test processes, tools and metrics. Execute and document integration and test activities and events. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs. This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities. Qualifications: This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). Bachelor’s degree required (STEM field). Experienced in the full life-cycle development of complex mathematical algorithms (such as tracking, correlation, guidance, battle management, and radar management) for Java-based military applications. Ability to implement MATLAB based algorithms into Java-based software. Understanding of software development principles including OOP, design patterns, and testing/debugging techniques,Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills. Experience working as part of an Agile team. Familiarity with Java J2EE or Java Spring. Knowledge of server-side development and message passing. Experience developing enterprise applications. Good working knowledge of MS Office products. Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking. Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, and Eclipse. Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams. Security+ or equivalent highly desired.
