Help Build the Trusted Marketplace for Peptide Therapy
PeptideMatch.io is building the trusted digital marketplace for people researching peptide therapy and the clinics that provide it.
Our purpose is simple but meaningful: make it easier for people to find rigorously vetted providers, understand their options, and make informed decisions with greater confidence.
Our platform is live and growing.
We are expanding our marketplace, adding new capabilities, improving customer experience, and scaling the technical foundation that supports future growth.
We are looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to become our internal technical owner of the platform.
You will work alongside our external development agency while remaining deeply hands-on with development yourself.
This is not a project-management or oversight role: you will write code, build new functionality, improve existing experiences, and help shape the technical strategy that drives future product and marketing initiatives.
You will partner closely with Growth, Content, and our agency team to prioritize features, improve performance, implement integrations, and ensure the platform continues to scale efficiently as the business grows.
What this role is
What this role is not
A senior, developer-led role owning WordPress architecture, front-end execution, performance, and technical growth foundations.
A page-builder-only implementation or content-publishing position.
A practical UX partner who can turn direction, wireframes, and business goals into clear, conversion-aware interfaces.
A pure UX research or visual-design role requiring a separate developer to ship the work.
A growth-oriented role focused on building, scaling, and continuously improving a trusted marketplace experience.
A narrowly scoped ticket-taking role with no ownership of technical decisions.
What You Will Own
You will design and implement the WordPress architecture for a growing marketplace.
That includes the data model, theme and block approach, custom post types, taxonomies, templates, content workflows, and technical integrations that make it easy to build and manage clinic profiles, educational resources, local landing pages, and conversion paths without sacrificing quality or speed.
You will build a high-performing front end using clean, semantic HTML, modern CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress/PHP.
You will create mobile-first, accessible experiences that feel polished and straightforward across devices.
You will know when to use a well-maintained plugin, when to build a custom solution, and how to avoid a fragile, over-engineered WordPress stack.
You will apply strong UX instincts to every release.
You will make thoughtful decisions about navigation, information hierarchy, calls to action, form friction, typography, layout, responsive behavior, and interaction patterns.
You do not need to be a dedicated UX researcher, but you must be able to recognize confusing experiences, propose better solutions, and execute them to a high visual standard.
You will establish the growth and measurement foundations for the public site.
This includes technical SEO, local SEO support, structured data, analytics and tag implementation, conversion tracking, form and CRM integrations, page-speed optimization, and practical experimentation.
You will work with Growth to turn traffic into qualified clinic and consumer leads without compromising the credibility of the experience.
Core Responsibilities
Area
Responsibilities
WordPress architecture
Architect and maintain a custom, block-based WordPress solution; define custom post types, taxonomies, custom fields, templates, reusable blocks, and editorial workflows.
Marketplace development
Build the foundational consumer experience, including clinic profiles, location and specialty pages, search/filtering patterns, trust indicators, educational-content pathways, and lead-capture flows.
Front-end engineering
Develop responsive, accessible interfaces using semantic HTML, modern CSS, JavaScript, and PHP; translate wireframes or business requirements into production-quality experiences.
UX and conversion
Improve navigation, content hierarchy, forms, calls to action, and interactions so people can quickly understand options, evaluate trust signals, and take the next step.
Performance and SEO
Engineer for fast page loads, strong Core Web Vitals, clean information architecture, technical SEO, structured data, local-search readiness, and scalable content operations.
Integrations and measurement
Implement and maintain integrations with analytics, tag management, CRM, forms, email, and other approved third-party services; ensure the right events and conversion signals are captured.
Quality and security
Establish a reliable local-development, version-control, staging, deployment, backup, and update workflow; perform rigorous functional, responsive, and cross-browser quality assurance.
Technical leadership
Advise leadership on tradeoffs, scope work realistically, identify risks early, document decisions, and set a high quality bar for external development support when needed.
What Success Looks Like
In the first 45 days, you will establish technical ownership of PeptideMatch.ioβs live platform and deliver a prioritized set of high-value improvements.
You will develop a working understanding of the current architecture and agency workflow, strengthen the core marketplace and growth experience, and put in place a reliable foundation for efficient ongoing delivery.
Thereafter, you will use performance, conversion, and operational insights to scale the platform without creating avoidable maintenance, performance, or content-management debt.
Requirement
What We Are Looking For
Experience
At least 5 years of professional web-development experience, including substantial responsibility for custom WordPress development and live production sites.
WordPress expertise
Advanced proficiency with WordPress core, PHP, template hierarchy, hooks, custom themes, custom post types, taxonomies, custom fields, and the block editor.
Experience building custom Gutenberg blocks is strongly preferred.
Front-end craft
Advanced skills in semantic HTML, modern CSS, responsive design, and JavaScript.
You write code that is performant, maintainable, accessible, and visually precise.
UX judgment
Demonstrated ability to turn incomplete requirements or wireframes into intuitive interfaces.
You understand hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, mobile behavior, and conversion principles.
Marketplace or directory thinking
Experience with searchable content models, profiles, faceted filtering, content-rich information architecture, local landing pages, or lead-generation workflows.
Performance and discoverability
Practical experience with Core Web Vitals, web accessibility, technical SEO, schema or structured data, analytics, and tag management.
Development practices
Proficiency with Git, local development, package management, staging/production deployments, testing, troubleshooting, and clear technical documentation.
Communication and ownership
Ability to explain technical tradeoffs in plain language, work productively with non-technical teammates, manage priorities, and own outcomes in a fast-moving launch environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building a marketplace, directory, two-sided platform, healthcare, wellness, or other high-trust digital product is highly valuable.
Experience with custom REST API work, third-party integrations, CRM and marketing-automation tools, advanced search/filtering, and privacy-conscious web implementation is also a plus.
We value candidates who can work effectively from an existing brand direction and Figma files but are not dependent on pixel-perfect design specifications for every decision.
Experience with React or a headless WordPress setup is welcome but not required for the initial phase of the role.
We will give priority to candidates who understand a custom-theme and custom-block approach over heavy reliance on generic page builders.
