About the Role As a Backend Engineer, you will work on high-quality code that meets customer requirements and deep-dive into system architecture. Responsibilities Code Development & CollaborationWrite high-quality code that meets customer requirements.Understand the context of why we are building what we are building.Participate in roadmap discussions and customer conversations.Understand customer problems and solve them by writing code.Work closely with Product Managers and other engineers.Architecture & Data SystemsDeep dive into architecture to handle enormous amounts of first-party and third-party data from channels such as open source, developer forums and communities, telemetry, product analytics, and numerous others.Build robust architectures capable of handling huge volumes of data (in terms of TBs) with fault tolerance, high availability, data integrity, and intelligence.Work closely with the CTO and Principal Engineers to build an architecture that solves customer problems in the most efficient way. Qualifications 2-4 years of experience as a Backend Engineer for data-centric SaaS products; ideally in an early-stage startup.Efficiency with at least one of the following: Java, Python, or GoLang.Strong proficiency in Postgres or Clickhouse.Well-versed with Cloud and PaaS. Required Skills Work hard and want to grow really fast.Care about your work a great deal; find it highly unsettling if the quality of work is even slightly off.Execute fast.Are hands-on (we will not have elaborate reporting structures for the foreseeable future and hopefully for a long time).Are someone people like to work with: low on ego, high on fun.Have the ability to fail, learn, and keep trying till you win; start-ups are tough and we will not get everything right the first time.Have a longish view of your career growth and not optimize for the next 1-2 years.
