PowerPay originates and services all loans. www.getpowerpay.com Job Description PowerPay, a fast-growing financial technology company, is seeking a Backend Software Developer to help continue to scale out our loan origination and servicing platforms. You will work with the existing engineering team, but the ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and help contribute to the direction of the projection and team. This position works out of our Wayne, PA office and works a hybrid schedule (M/F work from home, T/W/Th work in the office). Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutionsCreate and maintain APIs, rSpec testing suite, and middleware to facilitate data flow between systemsPerform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to identify and resolve integration issuesEnsure compliance with security protocols and data privacy regulations during integration processesTroubleshoot and optimize application performance to provide optimal experienceAbility to design maintainable database schemas and easy-to-understand data structuresAbility to design technical solutions with little direction or guidanceEngage in the team's organizational processes, such as planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews, to ensure effective collaboration and feedback. Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutionsProactively identify and address potential technical issues and bottlenecks Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or equivalent experienceProficiency in one of the programming languages Ruby with Ruby on Rails, Python, NodeJSExperience with SFTP/FTP, File, OAuth2, OIDC, TLS, SSH, etcKnowledge of Postgresql, Mysql, MariaDB or equivalent databasesKnowledge of cachingFamiliarity with rSpect testing frameworkKnowledge of RESTful API design and integration and knowledge of PostmanBe a self starter and able to work in a fast paced environmentFamiliarity with Linux environments and Docker in generalStrong communication ability to describe complex problems and solutions Complimentary skills: Experience developing with ReactJSExperience with NewRelicExperience with AWS infrastuctureUnderstanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelinesExperience within finTech/startup realm is desirable Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
