Description
Compiler Software Engineer (LLVM/C++)
Location: Cork, Ireland
The Company
Join a globally recognised technology business developing advanced silicon and software solutions for high-performance and embedded computing.
As part of a specialist compiler engineering team, you'll help develop and evolve the software toolchain that enables customers to maximise the performance of custom processor architectures.
You'll work alongside compiler engineers, CPU architects, and systems specialists on backend compiler development, performance optimisation, and production-grade tooling used across compute-intensive applications.
Compiler Software Engineer Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain compiler functionality using modern C++.Develop backend compiler features, including code generation and target-specific optimisations.Improve generated code quality, runtime performance, and compilation efficiency.Work closely with architecture and hardware engineering teams to support new processor capabilities.Investigate compiler defects, performance regressions, and low-level software issues.
Compiler Software Engineer Experience
Understanding of compiler design, optimisation techniques, intermediate representations, or computer architecture.Commercial or research experience in compiler engineering, systems software, or low-level programming.Strong C/C++ development skills.
Desirable Experience
LLVM, GCC, MLIR, or other compiler frameworks.Backend compiler development or code generation.Embedded software or processor architecture.Assembly language, debugging, or performance tuning.
If you have experience in compiler development, LLVM, C++, code generation, or systems software and would like to discuss the opportunity in confidence, please get in touch with IC Resources for further information.
