Role Overview We are looking for an experienced, creative, and detail-oriented Product Development & Regulatory Affairs Manager to lead the development of innovative makeup products while ensuring full regulatory compliance across our key markets. In this role, you will take ownership of the product development process from concept to launch, working closely with manufacturers to develop new formulas, textures, finishes, and shade ranges that align with our brand vision and quality standards. At the same time, you will oversee all regulatory and compliance activities, ensuring our products meet applicable cosmetic regulations in the EU, UK, and US. The ideal candidate combines a passion for makeup product innovation with a strong understanding of cosmetic regulations and has hands-on experience developing color cosmetics for an established beauty brand. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of new makeup products from concept to launch, including trend research, product concepts, formulations, shade ranges, finishes, and product performanceCollaborate closely with manufacturers to develop and optimize formulations, evaluate product samples, coordinate reformulations, and ensure products meet both creative and technical objectivesDrive the product development timeline by coordinating manufacturers, laboratories, packaging suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful product launchesEnsure all products comply with applicable regulations across the EU, UK, US, and other target markets while monitoring regulatory changes and assessing their impact on the product portfolioReview and approve formulations, ingredients, colorants, preservatives, fragrances, packaging, and marketing claims for regulatory compliance, while supporting manufacturers in identifying compliant ingredient alternatives where neededCoordinate all required laboratory testing, including stability, compatibility, microbiological, preservative efficacy, heavy metals, and other product-specific testing, while managing external laboratories, timelines, budgets, and documentationManage product registrations, Product Information Files (PIFs), technical documentation, and regulatory notifications (e.g. EU CPNP, UK SCPN, US MoCRA)Review laboratory reports, technical documentation, ingredient declarations, Certificates of Analysis, and supplier documentation to ensure products meet internal quality and regulatory standards prior to launchPartner closely with Design, Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain to deliver innovative, high-quality products that meet both consumer expectations and regulatory requirements Qualifications Degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Toxicology, Biology, or a related scientific field5+ years of experience developing color cosmetics for a makeup brand, preferably an indie beauty brandStrong understanding of makeup formulations, pigments, textures, finishes, and product performanceStrong knowledge of EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009, UK Cosmetics Regulation, and US cosmetic regulations (including MoCRA)Experience working directly with cosmetic manufacturers, formulation partners, and external laboratoriesFamiliarity with cosmetic testing requirements, technical documentation, product registrations, and Product Information Files (PIFs)Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple product launches simultaneouslyBusiness English proficiency; German proficiency is a plusPassion for vegan, ethical, and sustainable beauty is highly desirable What We Offer Opportunities for professional growth and career developmentCompetitive salary and benefitsEmployee discounts on Lethal Cosmetics productsA dynamic and inclusive workplace where you can make a real impactThe opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing beauty brandThe chance to collaborate with major global licensors on exciting IP collabs Let’s create something extraordinary together!
