Summary of Role
Our Carbon Project Development Team leads the development and delivery of carbon offset projects in diverse sectors, including renewable energy, waste management, agriculture, forestry, and Nature-Based Solutions.
We support project owners and partners throughout the full project lifecycle—from early-stage design through to credit issuance under international carbon standards.
As a Senior Carbon Project Developer, you’ll join a passionate and multidisciplinary team.
You'll contribute to high-impact projects and have opportunities to grow your expertise while working in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll play a key role in supporting and advancing our carbon project portfolio.
Your work will involve:
Developing and Managing Projects
Designing carbon feasibility studies and developing Project Design Documents (PDDs)Assessing emissions baselines and conducting surveysSupporting validation, monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) processes under standards like Verra’s VCS and Gold StandardParticipating in site visits, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery activities across locationsScheduling quality reviews, coordinating deliverables, and supporting project certificationSourcing and evaluating new project opportunities in collaboration with internal and external partnersPreparing documentation, technical assessments, and financial projections
Collaborating and Connecting
Engaging with project owners, clients, verification bodies, and other partnersSupporting a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaboration across teamsBuilding and maintaining networks with verification bodies, standard organizations, and technology providersRepresenting Anthesis at events and sharing insights with peers and partners
Growing and Sharing Expertise
Staying informed on international carbon markets and policy developmentsDeepening your knowledge in thematic areas such as Nature-Based Solutions or methane reductionSharing learnings with colleagues to strengthen the team’s collective expertise

You hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (e.g., in applied sciences, environmental engineering, or a related field)You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in carbon project development, ideally including drafting PDDs and overseeing MRV cyclesYou enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to a positive, inclusive team cultureYou’re eager to keep learning and open to tackling new challengesYou’re comfortable working in dynamic settings, with the ability to adapt quickly and think creativelyYou communicate clearly in English (Dutch and other languages are a plus)You have strong time management and organizational skillsYou’re interested in creating real-world impact and helping others do the same
