Infrastructure Developer | Electronic Trading - A leading electronic trading firm builds almost all its own technology, including infrastructure. Miller Maxwell is hiring an Infrastructure Developer to help automate more of it. The estate is mostly physical Linux servers, some virtualisation, and Windows on desktops and a few servers. You'll take ownership of an internal, Python-based provisioning platform and extend automation across the wider stack, with projects planned through 2027 and beyond. The Infrastructure Developer will: Own and evolve the Python system that builds and manages the Linux fleetIntroduce proper secrets management (Vault-compatible) to replace manual credentialsSpeed up patching and lifecycle management across the fleetMove network and firewall config into version control with PR reviewImprove how internal applications are built, tested and releasedBuild a standard, hardened setup for Windows desktops and serversBring the firm's cloud usage under the same automation as everything elseImprove monitoring and alertingPair with and review other engineers Requirements for the Infrastructure Developer: STEM degree5+ years commercial software engineeringStrong PythonLinux administration and infrastructure automation experienceSome Windows automation experienceComfortable with physical server provisioning and virtualised environmentsSolid networking and monitoring/observability experienceComfortable using AI tools to work fasterFinance experience is a plus, not a requirement.
