Full Stack Software Engineer Location: Birmingham (Hybrid) Salary: £60,000 + Benefits Permanent We're partnering with a growing technology business that's transforming vehicle logistics through innovative software, optimisation algorithms and machine learning. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented software engineer to work on industry-leading route optimisation solutions that have a tangible impact across the automotive sector. We're looking for someone with an outstanding academic background and/or an impressive career trajectory who enjoys solving complex technical problems. While this is a full-stack engineering role, we're particularly interested in candidates with strong algorithmic thinking and a passion for building high-performance software. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll contribute to the development of optimisation algorithms, cloud-based applications and scalable software across both backend and frontend technologies. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and optimise high-performance software with a focus on scalability and efficiency.Develop and enhance optimisation algorithms and intelligent decision-making systems.Build and maintain backend services using .NET and EF Core, or comparable modern backend technologies.Contribute to frontend development using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue.Support machine learning and optimisation models within production applications.Develop and maintain cloud-hosted applications and services within AWS.Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.Apply software engineering best practices across architecture, testing, deployment and continuous improvement. Skills & Experience Strong commercial software engineering experience in Python, C++, Rust and/or .NET.Excellent understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computational problem-solving.Experience developing scalable applications.Strong object-oriented programming and software design skills.Knowledge of optimisation techniques, mathematical modelling or machine learning would be great.Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.Exposure to AWS or other cloud-native technologies.Experience working on optimisation, logistics, routing, simulation or other computationally complex systems would be beneficial.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
