Description

Authentic helps insurance brokers create better insurance products for their clients. We provide the technology platform and behind-the-scenes support that lets brokers build custom insurance solutions for specific industries or customer groups. We handle the complex (technology, compliance, and partnerships with highly-rated insurance carriers), so they can focus on serving their customers and growing their business. Responsibilities Design and implement platform infrastructure to support the next generation of insurance systems, taking ownership from problem definition through deliveryIdentify bottlenecks and build solutions that help the team move faster, balancing first-principles thinking with practical judgment about what matters mostOwn problems end-to-end, thinking through scalability, operability, and ongoing metrics—digging deep to understand root causes and optimize for real-world outcomesImplement reliability and performance improvements across the stack (infrastructure, deployment, observability)Iterate on existing platform tooling and services based on feedback from engineering teamsCollaborate with senior engineers on architectural decisions and technical direction Experience 3-5 years of experience building and maintaining production systems at scaleExperience building distributed systems in Python or GoStrong understanding of modern API development best practices and designFamiliarity with AWS, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment best practicesDemonstrated ownership mindset: you clarify requirements, ask great questions, and drive work to completionTrack record of building reliable systems without sacrificing velocity—you know when to move fast and when to be careful Our (FTE) benefits Competitive salary, equity, and role trajectoryComprehensive health benefits for you and your family401(k) plan with company matchUnlimited PTOPaid parental leave About Authentic Authentic builds the infrastructure that program insurance runs on.
