As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join the Player – Transact Tribe, a team with organisation-wide impact and deep connections across multiple engineering areas. In this role, you will help shape systems that power critical functionality across the business and connect multiple engineering domains. What The Role Involves Collaborate with engineering leadership and teams to design and implement scalable, robust software solutionsImprove the existing platform to increase the amount of business functionality driven by end-user configurationEnhance system automation across scale, resiliency, and deploymentBuild and enhance core platform components and shared libraries (AWS, Go, Erlang, Kafka) used across the organisationBuild on the CloudNative platform, enabling greater use of AWS technology to accelerate delivery, scale, and resiliencyAnalyse complex system challenges and drive improvements to architecture, scalability, and platform efficiencyDrive technical initiatives from concept to execution, influencing decisions and aligning multiple teamsWork with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the wider business to understand and drive improvements across the platformDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and efficiency What We Are Looking For Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale production environmentExperience engineering high-quality, highly scalable software in an object-oriented or functional languageExperience working with distributed systemsExperience building and improving observabilityA passion for clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing, and continuous deploymentA passion for working in the cloud and automationFamiliarity with any of the following technologies: Golang, Erlang, or ElixirA user-centric, data-driven approach to building solutionsWillingness to learn new technologies Nice to have Experience with AWS services (CloudFormation, MSK, S3, Cognito, etc.)Knowledge of KafkaInterest in functional programming What We Offer Medical / Health InsuranceOpen Annual LeaveEmployee Assistance ProgrammeTraining & Learning Development Additional benefits vary by country and will be shared during the hiring process.
