OUR AMMAN OFFICE Our Amman office is Make Work Flow's engineering home – the hub where our technical development team designs, builds, and ships the products that give our customers real-time visibility across their operations, from KiK today to new markets across China and South Asia on our roadmap. We're currently on the verge of an exciting new product, deep in the development phase, and we're building out the right team here in Amman to help us build it out and get it executed together. ROLE OVERVIEW As a Backend / Junior Full Stack Developer, you'll build real features on a real product from day one – not tickets pulled from a backlog in isolation, but well-scoped pieces of our Python/FastAPI backend and React/TypeScript frontend, with direct mentorship from the Tech Senior Lead and Senior Full Stack Developer. You're joining as one of the four founding members of the Amman engineering team, which means you'll see how a product and a team get built from the ground up – a rare vantage point this early in a career. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Build and ship well-defined features across our Python/FastAPI backend and React/TypeScript frontend, under the guidance of senior engineers • Fix bugs and improve existing functionality across the stack • Write and maintain tests for the code you build • Learn our data model and how real-time shopfloor events (from RFID scanners, IoT devices, and terminals) flow through the platform • Participate actively in code review – both receiving and, as you grow, giving feedback • Take part in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives with the BA/Scrum Master • Grow into owning larger features and more ambiguous problems as your experience builds REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS • 2+ years of professional experience building full-stack web applications (or strong, demonstrable project experience at that level) • Working knowledge of Python on the backend; exposure to FastAPI is a plus • Working knowledge of React and TypeScript on the frontend • Basic understanding of SQL databases; familiarity with PostgreSQL is a plus • Strong fundamentals and a genuine drive to learn quickly in a small, hands-on team • Comfortable asking questions, taking feedback, and iterating – this role is built around active mentorship • Bonus: coursework, side projects, or curiosity around IoT, hardware integration, or manufacturing/supply-chain systems • English fluency is a must (our internal and client communication is only in English) TECHNOLOGIES & TOOLS • Backend: Python, FastAPI • Frontend: React, TypeScript • Data: SQL, PostgreSQL CORE COMPETENCIES • Curiosity and a genuine drive to learn quickly in a small, hands-on team • Openness to feedback and active participation in code review • Attention to detail and ownership of the quality of what you ship • Clear communication when asking questions or flagging blockers • Reliability and follow-through on well-scoped tasks WHAT WE OFFER • Join as one of the four founding members of a brand-new engineering department – rare, direct visibility into how a product and team are built from zero • Learn directly from a hands-on Tech Senior Lead and Senior Full Stack Developer, with real mentorship built into the role • Work on a real product used by global brands and manufacturers, not internal tooling or busywork • Fast growth path – as the Amman office scales toward 8-12 engineers, early hires are positioned for more senior scope • Genuine startup energy – fast decisions, direct ownership, and no bureaucracy slowing you down • Flat hierarchy – your ideas and questions reach the Tech Senior Lead directly, no layers in between
