Cloud DevOps Engineer

We Are Seeking: Cloud DevOps Engineer We are seeking a hands-on Cloud DevOps Engineer to join a team responsible for deploying, maintaining, and supporting critical platforms across both cloud and on-premises environments. You will work on a diverse technology stack including Kubernetes, GitLab, AWS, and internally developed platforms, helping to improve automation, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across the firm's infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Deploy, maintain, and support cloud and on-premises infrastructure platformsManage and optimise containerised environments using Kubernetes and related technologiesDevelop and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflowsBuild and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code and automated configuration management solutionsSupport distributed production systems and improve platform reliability and observabilityAdminister and optimise AWS environments and core cloud servicesPartner with engineering and infrastructure teams to improve operational efficiency and scalabilityContribute to monitoring, alerting, and automation initiatives across the technology estate Requirements Strong experience with Kubernetes and container technologies (e.g. EKS, Docker, Podman)Experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI experience is highly beneficial)Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code toolsExperience supporting distributed production systemsStrong Linux administration experience, particularly within RHEL or Rocky Linux environmentsGood understanding of core AWS services, including:VPC networking and securityEC2 deployment and scalingIAMStorage services including S3, EFS, EBS, and FSxExperience with monitoring and observability toolingStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across technical teams Highly Relevant Experience Administration of GitLab (including on-premises environments)Exposure to Snowflake and/or ClickHouse CloudExperience with monitoring platforms such as CloudWatch, Coralogix, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability toolingProgramming experience using Python, C#, Rust, or similar languagesExperience supporting cloud platforms within financial services, trading, buyside or other performance-sensitive environments is strongly preferred What We're Looking For Self-driven engineer comfortable working with a high degree of autonomyStrong troubleshooting mindset and passion for automationComfortable operating in fast-paced environments with changing prioritiesTeam-oriented individual who enjoys both mentoring others and learning from peersAbility to balance operational support with long-term engineering improvements Why Join Us Work on large-scale cloud and infrastructure platforms supporting a global quantitative hedge fundExposure to modern DevOps, containerisation, and cloud-native technologiesStrong engineering culture focused on automation, reliability, and continuous improvementOpportunity to collaborate with highly technical teams supporting critical business platforms Selby Jennings is a Trading Style of Phaidon International (License Number 16S8194)
