The Why The Senior Platform Engineer (Front-End) owns the engineering platforms, tooling, and CI/CD capabilities that enable teams to build, test, and deploy modern front-end applications at scale. This role combines strong front-end engineering expertise with platform engineering practices to create reliable, automated delivery workflows from code commit through to production deployment. Working closely with Front-End Engineers and Product teams, you will build and evolve the tooling, pipelines, quality gates, and developer experiences that support web and front-end applications. You will help establish repeatable delivery patterns, improve engineering productivity, and ensure applications can be released quickly, safely, and consistently across environments. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and operate CI/CD pipelines for front-end applications, ensuring reliable build, test, and deployment workflows.Develop and maintain reusable engineering platforms, templates, and automation that support the delivery of web and front-end products.Optimise front-end build systems, bundling processes, dependency management, and environment-specific configuration across multiple applications.Implement frontend-focused quality gates, including automated testing, code quality checks, security scanning, and deployment controls.Provision and manage preview environments that allow Product, Design, and QA teams to validate changes before release.Automate deployment, rollback, and release processes, ensuring traceability, governance, and operational reliability.Build and maintain automated testing pipelines supporting unit, integration, end-to-end, and browser-based testing strategies.Partner with Front-End Engineering teams to improve developer experience, remove delivery bottlenecks, and standardise engineering practices.Support cloud-native deployment patterns and infrastructure automation that enable scalable delivery of customer-facing applications.Contribute shared CI/CD capabilities, platform services, and engineering standards that improve delivery outcomes across multiple teams.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on release velocity, platform reliability, observability, and engineering productivity. Your Experience 5–8 years' experience in Front-End Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering roles.Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting modern front-end applications using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworks.Demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating CI/CD pipelines for customer-facing web applications and front-end products.Experience implementing automated build, test, deployment, and release processes within modern engineering environments.Strong understanding of front-end delivery practices, including bundling, dependency management, quality assurance, performance optimisation, and environment management.Experience creating shared engineering capabilities, developer tooling, or platform services used across multiple development teams.Familiarity with cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and modern DevOps practices.Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering closely with engineering, product, and design teams.
