Berlin, Germany | 18 Month Contract | Hybrid
Are you an experienced FPGA Developer looking to work on cutting-edge RF and high-power technology? We are pleased to be partnering with an innovative technology company in Berlin to recruit an experienced FPGA Developer (m/f/d).
You'll work on FPGA-based SoC embedded real-time systems, contributing across VHDL/Verilog design, embedded software development, hardware/software co-design, simulation, validation, legacy code optimisation, and software/firmware standardisation.
What You'll Be Doing
Design, simulate and implement FPGA logic using VHDL and/or Verilog for complex hardware function blocks.Maintain and further develop FPGA-based SoC embedded real-time systems.Develop embedded software for soft-core and hard-core processors, working with Linux and bare-metal environments.Collaborate with hardware, software and systems engineers to analyse requirements and develop innovative technical solutions.Integrate and optimise hardware/software co-design to maximise system performance.Perform simulation, verification and hardware validation to ensure functionality and reliability.Support the integration of FPGA components into larger embedded systems.Analyse, refactor and improve legacy FPGA and embedded software codebases.Produce high-quality technical documentation for internal and customer-facing purposes.Drive software and firmware standardisation, reusability and development best practices alongside architects, testers and DevOps teams.Keep up to date with emerging FPGA technologies, development methodologies and AI-assisted engineering tools.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience developing FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog.Strong understanding of FPGA-based SoC architectures and embedded real-time systems.Experience developing embedded software for Linux and/or bare-metal environments.Knowledge of hardware/software co-design principles.Experience with FPGA simulation, debugging, validation and system integration.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, solution-focused approach.Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across interdisciplinary engineering teams.Confident communicating in challenging technical environments and managing competing priorities.Business-fluent German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
