Senior DevOps Engineer – Kubernetes/AWS Remote US | No sponsorship available Our client, a cloud-native SaaS company, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operation of container orchestration platforms at scale, with a primary focus on Kubernetes on AWS (EKS). This is a backfill role on an established platform team supporting a large, multi-cluster production environment. What You'll Do Manage and scale a large multi-cluster EKS environment (prod and non-prod) supporting customer-facing applications Stand up new clusters and expand existing infrastructure in partnership with application teams Drive Kubernetes version upgrade strategy and streamline the upgrade process Improve environment elasticity, stability, and alerting/observability Support incident response and root cause analysis, with resolution timelines ranging from quick fixes to multi-week efforts Partner with security and finance stakeholders on compliance and cost optimization initiatives Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call model, including periodic weekend rotation Collaborate with L1/NOC teams on troubleshooting Mentor engineers and contribute to a highly collaborative, cross-training culture Split expected at roughly 80% hands-on execution, 20% strategic direction-setting Must-Have Skills Strong hands-on Terraform and CI/CD pipeline experience Deep AWS EKS experience (AWS specific, not Azure) GitLab experience (self-hosted and SaaS) Monitoring/observability tools: Splunk, New Relic, CloudWatch Nice to Have Jenkins Grafana CKA/CKAD or AWS certifications Welcome to ConsultNet, a premier national provider of technology talent and solutions.
