Seeking Operations Manager Argyle Engineering is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead workshop and operational performance in Kununurra, including site operations across Australia. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment and is passionate about safety, efficiency, and team development. You will play a key role in shaping operational success, ensuring jobs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. About the Role The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and day-to-day management of Argyle Engineering’s workshop and operational activities. This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to a high standard, while driving continuous improvement across people, processes, and systems. Working closely with the Managing Director, office staff, quote specialist, and workshop personnel, you will ensure seamless communication, effective resource allocation, and exceptional customer outcomes. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Provide overall leadership and direction across workshop and offsite operations.Coordinate daily workflow, job scheduling, labour allocation, and site activities.Maximise productivity through effective use of equipment, personnel, and resources.Production & Job Management Oversee job costing, labour allocation, and job tracking within the Trak system.Identify and communicate delays or operational issues proactively.Review completed jobs to assess profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs .Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and support workshop and operational staff.Develop team schedules to maintain appropriate staffing levels.Conduct toolbox talks and operational planning meetings.Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.Safety, Quality & Compliance Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all operations.Ensure compliance with all WHS legislation, company policies, and procedures.Maintain high housekeeping and workshop organisation standards.Resolve technical, quality, and production issues efficiently.Ensure work meets company quality standards and customer specifications.Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions. Skills & Experience Essential Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Workshop Manager, or similar leadership role within an engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment.Strong leadership and people management capabilities.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Demonstrated experience managing production schedules and workflows.Solid understanding of job costing and productivity management.Ability to quickly learn and utilise operational software systems.Desirable Experience with the Trak operating system.Trade qualification in Engineering, Mechanical, Fabrication, or related field.First Aid Certificate.Proficient in CAD software and workshop drawings.Experience with Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience. Location & Eligibility This position is based in Kununurra, Western Australia, and requires the successful applicant to live in Kununurra on a full-time basis. Applicants must have unrestricted Australian work rights and hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship. This role is not available to Working Holiday Visa holders and is not eligible for employer sponsorship.
