Description

Title: Senior DevOps Engineer Location: Denver, CO Six months, contract to hire role (no sponsorship permitted) Salary: Up to 185K Hybrid Role The Planet Group has partnered with a Denver, CO are company to locate aSenior DevOps Engineer to help shape the future of a modern cloud platform supporting highly scalable software systems. This is an opportunity to influence engineering practices, drive platform strategy, and build the infrastructure that enables development teams to deliver software quickly, reliably, and at scale. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering. You'll partner closely with software engineers while designing cloud infrastructure, improving CI/CD pipelines, automating operational processes, and championing DevOps best practices across the organization. Responsibilities: Design, build, and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google CloudDevelop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and modern automation practicesBuild and enhance CI/CD pipelines that improve software delivery speed and reliabilityImprove platform observability through monitoring, logging, and performance insightsAutomate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflowsPartner with engineering teams to improve developer productivity and deployment processesLead technical initiatives focused on scalability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and platform reliabilityMentor engineers while helping establish DevOps standards and best practices across multiple teamsEvaluate emerging technologies, including AI-powered development tools, to improve engineering efficiencyRequired Skills and Experience 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years focused on DevOps or Platform EngineeringDeep expertise designing and supporting cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or Google CloudStrong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as CodeProduction experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestrationExpertise building and supporting CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Python, Go, or similar languages for automationStrong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, VPCs, and firewallsExperience implementing monitoring, observability, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutionsExcellent communication skills with the ability to mentor engineers and influence technical directionIf you enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, building platforms that scale, and enabling engineering teams to move faster without sacrificing reliability, we'd love to connect.
