Description

Description Generative AI is transforming how people work, but here's the unsolved problem: how do you give an AI assistant to 100,000 employees while keeping the right guardrails in place? And what if an administrator could just tell the system what they want in plain language, instead of navigating a maze of settings? THE ROLE We are looking for a Front-End Engineer II who wants to work at the intersection of AI interaction design and enterprise-scale software. You will own the design and delivery of interfaces ranging from conversational AI configuration flows to data-rich dashboards and policy management UIs. Challenges You'll Tackle Agentic and conversational UX: chat-based interfaces where administrators express intent in natural language and the system translates it into precise configurations Hybrid interaction models: seamlessly blending conversational AI with structured UI controls, knowing when chat is the right modality vs. a visual editor Complex interactive systems: policy builders with hierarchical inheritance, permission matrices, and conditional logic that must remain intuitive at scale Data-dense visualization: usage dashboards, audit views, and analytics surfacing actionable insights from millions of events About Amazon Quick Amazon Quick is a generative AI-powered assistant that empowers employees to be more productive by answering questions, generating content, providing summaries, and completing tasks, all securely grounded in enterprise data. Quick serves some of the world's largest enterprises, with deployments spanning hundreds of thousands of users. Key job responsibilities Own end-to-end feature delivery from technical design through implementation, testing, and production release. Build innovative interaction patterns: natural language configuration interfaces, agentic chat UX, policy editors, and observability dashboards using React, TypeScript, and AWS Cloudscape Design System. Define UX for a new problem space. Work with talented UX designers and product managers to invent interaction patterns that don't yet exist in the industry. You won't just implement specs; you'll shape what the product should be. Drive front-end quality with clean, well-tested code, comprehensive tests, and operational ownership of your features in production. Contribute to front-end architecture: component design, state management patterns, performance optimization, and reusable abstractions. Collaborate cross-functionally with backend engineers, applied scientists, and security teams to bring complex capabilities to life through intuitive interfaces. About The Team The Governance Platform is the control layer for Amazon Quick. We build the interfaces that customers use to manage policies, configure access, and monitor AI usage across their organization. We're pioneering a new approach: natural language and agentic chat interfaces that let administrators configure complex systems conversationally, alongside rich visual UIs for when precision and overview are needed. This space is nascent. There is no established playbook for how AI governance UX should work. The patterns you build here will help define how the entire industry thinks about administering AI systems at scale. Diverse Experiences AWS values diverse experiences.
