Backend Developer

To make that happen, we're continuously modernizing our technology landscape, and we're looking for an experienced Backend Developer (Java/Spring Boot, Flowable BPMN) to join our engineering team. 🔍 What will you do?You'll be developing and evolving backend services that power our insurance platform. A big part of your role will be designing robust Java applications, orchestrating business processes in Flowable BPMN, and integrating our platform with internal systems, partners, brokers, and regulatory services. ✨ What you'll be working onDeveloping backend services in Java and Spring BootDesigning and maintaining business processes in Flowable BPMNBuilding reliable REST APIs with proper versioning and backward compatibilityIntegrating with external systems, brokers, and regulatory platformsImplementing business logic and data access layersWorking closely with analysts, architects, testers, and fellow developersImproving code quality, performance, and overall system reliability 💡 We're looking for someone who hasAt least 5 years of commercial Java experienceStrong knowledge of Spring BootExperience with Flowable or CamundaHands-on experience designing production REST APIsSolid knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQLEnglish at B2 level or above ⭐ Nice to haveExperience in insurance, finance, or other regulated industriesFamiliarity with ReactDevOps experience (TeamCity, CI/CD)Keycloak, Kibana, Redis, Docker, Azure, Terraform, MavenExperience with system analysis 🌱 Why Direct?At Direct, we combine the stability of an established insurance company with the mindset of a technology-driven business.
