Hiring a Product Engineer in Rotterdam

Role: Product Engineer (Data & AI) Location: Rotterdam Language: Dutch, English We’re looking for a Product Engineer to accelerate our product development and ship new features to users at a high pace. We're building a platform that transforms collaboration between retailers and suppliers for an agentic future. Better collaboration between the two leads to better alignment with the consumer, resulting in more profit and less waste. There is traction (€2.1M investment, several Dutch FMCG clients), a clear vision, and a tech stack we can build on. Shorter release cycles allow us to test what sticks with our users faster, so we can deliver value to our clients continuously. Here's what you'll work on: 🔹 AI-native data apps & dashboards: Give users the power to construct their own data apps/dashboards from the data in the Captain platform using AI. 🔹 Agentic analytics: Users have day to day analytics queries; we want to provide them the agents that find answers to their queries. What did the out of stock situation of brand X to my own market share?🔹 Agentic data science: Users have complex analytics questions; we want to provide them the agents that solve these analytics questions for them. What is the price elasticity of my product, and what is the ideal price point of my product during the winter and summer season?🔹 Retailer deliverables: Our users deliver recurring plans to retailers year-round (promo plans, assortment, pricing, product updates). Our platform helps them produce these documents. 🔹 Data management UX: Give users the power to enrich data and own their data quality. 🔹 AI-assisted pipelines: AI-assisted data pipeline development and maintenance to allow scalability. 🔹 Stack: Django, Next.js, Python, Databricks, Azure. 🎯 The ideal candidate: 🔸 Entrepreneurial: you thrive in a small, multidisciplinary team where you own your domain end to end. 🔸 3+ years experience in a software engineering role. 🔸 A builder who takes ownership and prioritises customer feedback; You like to break things apart and build them back up again. 🔸 Genuine interest in LLMs and agentic systems: no need to be an ML researcher, but you should be excited about building AI-powered products. 🔸 Experience with (or strong curiosity about) Food/FMCG data is a big plus. 🔸 Based in (or near) Rotterdam; you speak excellent Dutch and English.
