Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer – Backend to lead the architecture, design, and development of large-scale backend systems and data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in backend engineering, distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and technical leadership. As a Principal Engineer, you will drive technical strategy, define architectural direction, mentor engineering teams, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to build scalable, high-performance technology solutions. Required Skills & Experience 13+ years of experience in Backend Development, Data Engineering, or related software engineering roles.Strong expertise in designing and building large-scale backend systems.Extensive experience working with SQL and large-scale data systems.Strong programming experience in one or more backend technologies such as:PythonJavaScalaSimilar backend programming languagesExperience designing and developing distributed systems and highly available applications.Proven experience leading architecture and technical direction for large engineering teams.Strong background in mentoring and guiding senior engineers and technical teams.Experience building scalable data pipelines, processing frameworks, or backend platforms.Preferred Qualifications Experience working in product-based technology companies or large-scale technology platforms.Strong understanding of cloud platforms, microservices architecture, APIs, and system scalability.Experience working with modern data technologies and engineering frameworks.
