Technical Lead / Senior Backend Developer (NestJS)

We are looking for a Technical Lead / Senior Backend Developer to take ownership of the technical development and continuous improvement of one of our key products, Vagamo. This is a hands-on role for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys working across the full product lifecycle, from understanding business needs and designing solutions to building scalable features, improving performance, and maintaining high-quality code. You will be the technical owner of the backend platform, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver reliable, impactful solutions. The role offers a path toward Technical Lead responsibilities through ownership, technical decisions, and product influence rather than people management. Responsibilities: Own backend development and continuous improvement of the Vagamo platform.Design, build, maintain, and improve scalable software solutions.Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.Make architectural and technology decisions.Review code and maintain high standards for quality, performance, and maintainability.Develop backend services using NestJS / Node.js / TypeScript.Work with MariaDB and optimize data handling and performance.Contribute to frontend development with Next.js when needed.Improve product features, search capabilities, and user experience.Use AI-powered development tools (such as Claude and similar solutions) to improve engineering productivity.Support testing, deployment, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes-based environments.Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and IT teams. Requirements: 4–5+ years of backend development experience.Strong experience with Node.js and NestJS.Solid understanding of clean code principles, software architecture, and API design and development.Strong experience with databases, particularly MariaDB.Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.Experience working with MongoDB and Redis.Experience developing and deploying applications in cloud-native environments.Practical experience using AI tools to enhance software development workflows.Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, propose effective solutions, and deliver results.Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.We believe great ideas happen together, so you’ll join us in a hybrid setup: 3 days in our lovely office and 2 days working remotely.
