Raise is currently hiring a Technical Business Analyst – Application Modernization & DevOps on behalf of our client.
They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
As a Technical Business Analyst – Application Modernization & DevOps at , you will serve as the critical bridge between application engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps delivery teams during complex cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Unlike traditional BA roles focused on business process redesign, your core focus is on technical delivery enablement—ensuring applications can be efficiently built, tested, released, and operated using modern engineering practices while preserving existing functionality, security, and performance standards.
Responsibilities
1.
Build, Test & Release Process ModernizationAnalyze current-state application build and deployment workflows to identify bottlenecks, manual steps, and modernization opportunities without altering business logic.Map and document future-state deployment patterns, automated testing integration points, and operational release procedures.Support quality assurance, performance validation, and non-functional requirement (NFR) verifications to ensure production readiness.2.
CI/CD & Repository GovernancePartner with cloud and DevOps engineers to define criteria for CI/CD pipeline design, deployment readiness, and automated release gates.Establish and document standards for branching strategies, merging protocols, source control governance, and repository structures.3.
Technical Facilitation & AlignmentFacilitate technical discovery sessions and alignment workshops across developers, QA engineers, cloud operations, and product stakeholders.Translate complex architectural and infrastructure requirements into clear, actionable technical user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflow diagrams.Define functional validation and regression planning frameworks to ensure zero disruption to core business capabilities during migration phases.Key Deliverables You Will ProduceCurrent-State vs.
Future-State Delivery Maps: Technical workflow documentation outlining build, test, and release pipeline transitions.Technical Backlog & Epics: High-quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria for CI/CD, branching strategies, and environment provisioning.Deployment & Operations Playbooks: Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for deployment, rollback protocols, support, and release readiness.Traceability & Validation Matrices: Requirements matrices mapping functional behavior to regression and performance validation criteria.
Qualifications
5+ years of technical business analysis or technical delivery experience supporting software engineering or cloud initiatives.3+ years of direct involvement in cloud migration, application modernization, or DevOps enablement projects.Proven track record of working within multi-disciplinary Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban) in a consulting or enterprise environment.Technical Skills & ToolsDevOps Ecosystem: Hands-on familiarity with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Boards, Repos) or equivalent platforms (GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Jenkins).Source Control & Engineering Practices: Strong understanding of Git repositories, branching/merging strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based), code promotion, and release management.Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): In-depth knowledge of modern SDLC practices, automated testing frameworks, and continuous delivery models.Documentation & Analysis: Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools for technical workflow mapping and backlog management.Professional & Soft SkillsTechnical Translation: Superior ability to bridge communication gaps between deep technical specialists (cloud architects, DevOps engineers) and product/business stakeholders.Facilitation & Alignment: Exceptional workshop facilitation, consensus-building, and conflict-resolution skills in fast-paced delivery environments.Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset capable of breaking down complex, legacy application architectures into clear modernization steps.Education and CertificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).Preferred / Highly Regarded CertificationsAgile / BA Certifications: PMI-PBA, IIBA-CBAP, IIBA-AAC, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or SAFe Agilist.Cloud & DevOps Certifications:Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).AWS Certified: Cloud Practitioner or DevOps Engineer Associate.
