Our content is central to how we educate brands, build trust with factories, and make the manufacturing world more transparent. The Position: We’re looking for a Founding Engineer at Glass Factory. This person will help build the technical foundation of the company across our platform, product surfaces, internal tools, AI systems, integrations, infrastructure, and long-term architecture. The ideal candidate is a senior full-stack engineer with strong product instincts, excellent system design ability, deep ownership, and the ability to move fast while still building systems that can scale. This role sits at the intersection of product, backend systems, frontend execution, AI, user experience, and technical architecture. The person we hire will own meaningful product surfaces end-to-end, from idea to production. They will be responsible not just for how things are built, but what gets built and why. This is a hands-on role. The person we hire must be able to architect systems, write production-grade code, ship full-stack features, debug complex issues, design scalable infrastructure, integrate AI tools, and make strong technical decisions with limited hand-holding. They will work closely with the founding team to turn Glass Factory’s product vision into reliable, scalable, and high-leverage software. They must have a good taste for UI/UX as they will also lead how the customer interacts with the product. We are looking for someone who is highly experienced but still extremely hungry. This is not a role for someone who wants a narrow engineering ticket queue, a clean corporate roadmap, and six meetings to decide what a button should do. The right person wants to build inside a fast-moving startup environment, make real technical decisions, own major systems, and help turn Glass Factory into the operating system for fashion manufacturing. Responsibilities: Own product development end-to-end across major features, product areas, and internal systemsTake ownership of features or product areas on a 3 to 6 week cadence, from concept through rolloutTranslate product goals, customer problems, and business priorities into concrete engineering plans and executionHelp turn ambiguous product ideas into clear technical requirements, implementation plans, and production-ready systemsOwn backend workflows, APIs, data models, AI features, frontend logic, and product experiences that directly impact customersBuild and improve AI-powered tools that help brands access manufacturing knowledge, generate production assets, structure inquiries, evaluate factories, and manage product developmentDevelop internal tools that improve team workflows across sourcing, production, customer success, factory onboarding, CRM operations, and content systemsHelp define engineering standards, code review practices, deployment workflows, documentation habits, and technical operating principlesWork with AI coding tools to accelerate development while still maintaining strong engineering judgment and code qualityEvaluate new AI tools, frameworks, APIs, and development workflows that can improve engineering speed and product capabilityHelp hire, mentor, and eventually support additional engineers as the team scales Requirements: Must have 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and maintaining real full-stack production systemsMust have strong senior-level engineering experience and a proven track record of owning meaningful product surfaces end-to-endStrong full-stack engineering ability across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, infrastructure, and integrationsStrong system design and architecture skills, with the ability to make technical decisions that balance speed, scalability, reliability, and complexityExperience working in a startup, high-growth company, technical founding team, or fast-moving product environmentStrong backend experience with Python, Django, FastAPI, Go, Node.js, or equivalent modern backend frameworksStrong frontend experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend development patternsStrong database experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent production databasesExperience with AWS, cloud infrastructure, deployment workflows, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and production debuggingExtremely proficient with AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent toolsExperience building AI-powered product features, agentic workflows, LLM integrations, automation systems, or internal AI toolsInterest in manufacturing, fashion, marketplaces, AI, workflow automation, supply chains, or product development Term: Full-Time Role
