Role Overview: Design and develop new mechanical products from concept through to productionProduce accurate engineering drawings and manufacturing documentationImprove existing products to enhance manufacturability, efficiency and cost effectivenessCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of new product development projectsApply engineering best practice throughout the design and manufacturing processSupport projects to ensure deadlines and quality standards are consistently achieved Responsibilities: Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD softwareDevelop production-ready designs with a strong focus on design for manufactureWork alongside production engineering to optimise existing product designsRecommend suitable manufacturing methods for both in-house and outsourced productionCarry out Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and ensure identified actions are completedPerform tolerance analysis to ensure product functionality and ease of manufactureLiaise with Development, Production Engineering and Purchasing teams throughout the product development processMaintain accurate project documentation and progress updatesEnsure all work is completed in line with company quality standards and ISO9001:2015 procedures Benefits: Opportunity to work on innovative product development projectsCollaborative and supportive engineering environmentOngoing training and opportunities for continuous professional developmentExposure to the full product lifecycle from concept through to manufactureStable position within a quality-focused manufacturing business If you are a quality-driven engineering professional looking to make an impact within an organisation focused on innovation and sustainability, we would love to hear from you.
