What We Are Looking For About the Team Based out of our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Queensland, the Research and Technology department consists of a small and highly capable team, working on innovative technologies to enhance Australia’s military capability. RDA’s Research and Technology (R&T) department includes development areas across each of our primary divisions; Vehicle Systems, Digital Solutions, and Weapons, Ammunition and Protection. About The Role The Software Systems Engineer – R&T will be responsible for the development of software engineering artefacts across the entire product development lifecycle including software development plans, architectures, code and qualification material. This position is well suited to a candidate with a breadth of knowledge and experience in both software development and integration, utilising multiple programming languages and Operating Systems across their career. The successful candidate will also possess Systems Engineering capabilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to understand the customer needs and requirements. The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: Degree qualification in Software Engineering, I.T., Mechatronics, Aerospace or equivalent;Proficiency in development and integration of Software using Python or C++;Proficiency in software-defined networking;Comfortable working in development environments such as Linux / with Virtual Machines;Willingness and ability to travel interstate and internationally when required; andEligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
