Description

Senior Full Stack engineer Stack: .Net, React, AWS Location: Sydney – In office 1 day/week Package: Up to $170k base + Super The Opportunity: This is an Aussie-founded CaaS business built around answering the phone when businesses can't. Think virtual reception, live call answering, and appointment scheduling, delivered through a proprietary cloud platform running globally, 24/7. AI isn't a talking point here, it's how the team works. Everyone's on Claude, tickets get generated straight from meeting transcripts, and agents handle a meaningful share of PR review. When the team ran a recent AI sprint, most of what got built shipped straight into production, not shelved as an experiment. It's also a small, trust-led team, real autonomy, real say in technical direction, and leadership that backs engineers rather than watching the clock. The Role: You'll join a lean engineering function of around 15 full stack engineers, split into two squads, each building on a .NET back end with React on frontend. This role leans back-end. Strong .NET is genuinely non-negotiable, with some Node and TypeScript exposure valued. Some React is a real plus, but deep front-end mastery isn't the priority here.Real, live work on offer, not maintenance. A client portal is about to be substantially rebuilt, and there's active work breaking apart a legacy monolith into cleanly separated, independently deployable services along business domain lines.AWS is the clear direction here, workloads are actively migrating off Azure. Genuine AWS experience is highly valued, and there's real appetite for someone who can help train the wider team up as they go. What you'll do: Architect, build and maintain complex back-end services, with a hand in shaping the front-end where neededTake full-cycle ownership, from requirements through to production, with real influence over technical directionLead the practical work of breaking a legacy monolith into logically separated, independently deployable servicesWork inside an AI-native delivery process, contributing to how the team uses AI responsibly and effectively, not just using it to write code fasterMentor and elevate junior and mid-level engineers, particularly on backend architecture and cloud practiceOwn the full service lifecycle, build it, own it, run it What you'll bring: 6+ years in software engineering, with deep, demonstrable .NET expertise, some Node/TypeScript a plusGenuine experience with distributed or microservices architecture, ideally having led or contributed to breaking apart a monolithComfort working across the stack, some React exposure is valued though not the primary requirementReal AWS experience, ideally strong enough to help train and upskill a team still early in their cloud journeyAny real experience building with AI, not just using AI coding tools, is a bonus worth mentioningConfidence operating with autonomy in a small, lean team, and a genuine interest in mentoring others Apply now or reach out for more info. 📩: george.bates@latitudeit.com.au 🔗: George Bates | LinkedIn
