Summary

A technology company is hiring a backend integration engineer to connect enterprise systems with a modern cloud platform. The role involves API development, troubleshooting, distributed systems, and technical collaboration.

Highlights

Solve challenging integration problems, design reliable backend systems, and work closely with enterprise technology teams on impactful solutions.

Description

Most software engineers build backend services. This team builds the layer that connects some of the world's biggest manufacturers. Factories lose billions every year because critical spare parts data lives in disconnected ERP systems, legacy infrastructure and siloed databases. When that information isn't available, production stops, costs increase and supply chains slow down. Our client is solving that problem. They're building an AI-powered platform that's transforming how global manufacturing businesses manage, share and understand spare parts data—connecting engineering teams, procurement and enterprise systems into a single source of truth. Now they're looking for a Backend Integration Engineer to help scale that platform. 📍 Germany (Remote-first) What you'll be doing This isn't a traditional backend role where you sit behind tickets. You'll own customer integrations from end to end—working alongside enterprise engineering teams, backend developers and product specialists to connect complex ERP environments with a modern cloud platform. You'll design and improve APIs, build reliable integration workflows, troubleshoot real-world production issues and help shape the future of the platform's integration architecture. If you enjoy solving messy technical problems where no two customers are the same, you'll feel right at home. You'll be a great fit if you have experience with: Java, Kotlin or Scala in production environmentsREST APIs, webhooks and distributed backend systemsEnterprise integrations and data synchronisationDebugging across multiple systems using logs, payloads and tracesSAP, ERP platforms or middleware technologiesEvent-driven architectures, retries and idempotent systemsWorking directly with technical stakeholders and customer engineering teams Experience with cloud platforms, observability tooling, CI/CD or integration middleware is a bonus—but curiosity and strong problem-solving matter just as much. Most importantly, you'll be joining an engineering team where your work directly influences how some of the world's largest industrial businesses exchange and trust their data. If you're looking for a backend role that's equal parts engineering, architecture and customer impact, I'd love to tell you more. 📩 Drop me a message for a confidential chat.
