Summary

An experienced DevOps engineer is needed to design, build, and support secure CI/CD automation across cloud and on-premises environments. You will automate infrastructure provisioning, improve build and release processes, migrate applications to public cloud platforms, and strengthen observability and production reliability. The role requires at least ten years of software engineering experience, including five years of hands-on DevOps work, with strong expertise in AWS or Azure, infrastructure as code, containers, CI/CD tooling, Linux, and monitoring. Work is primarily remote with onsite collaboration every other week in Texas or New Hampshire.

Description

On-site Every Other Week onsite / 5 days in either Westlake, TX or Merrimack, NH As a DevOps team member, you will be involved in the worlds of development and IT-operations. You will bring cloud leadership skills for application deployment and management while assisting in build engineering activities and looking for ways to automate the end-to-end deployment process. The role calls for understanding technology well at both the server level and at the development level. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $65.00 to $70.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities Design, build, and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) automation pipelines using secure code practices.Work well with Architects, Lead Engineers, Product Owners and Product Managers to craft the right DevSecOps solutions to deliver business applications in the cloud.Seek out opportunities to develop and improve the existing automation pipelines and processes.Automate the secure provisioning, setup, and maintenance of environments including servers, resources, and databases in the cloud (AWS) as well as on-prem across Dev/Test/Production environments.Participate in Kanban/Scrum based Agile teams focused on business unit success.Design, implement, customize, deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines and configuration management.Migrate on-premises applications to public cloud platforms and evaluate new tools to improve build and release processes.Work with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and Athena.Write CloudFormation templates, Terraform, and Ansible modules.Use Python/boto or other languages for implementing AWS solutions.Supervise the health of production and test environments and drive SRE, observability, and monitoring.Troubleshoot and debug build issues and resolve problems.Collect and report on operational metrics for SLA reporting and capacity planning. Experience Requirements A minimum of 10 years of experience in a Software Engineering function with at least 5 years in a hands-on DevOps role.Strong experience with containerization, automation, and build pipelines in AWS and/or Azure.Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Concourse, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Veracode, and uDeploy.Experience with automated application build and support using Maven, Gradle, Ant, or similar tools.Knowledge of configuration and infrastructure management including Ansible, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, and EKS.Experience with monitoring and logging such as CloudWatch, Datadog or Splunk, and ELK stack.Knowledge of open source platforms such as Apache, Tomcat, and Node.js.Basic understanding of modern service-based applications with front end technologies (Angular, React, HTML, JavaScript, CSS) and RESTful back end (Node.js, Java 8+, Spring).Experience with automation including unit and integration testing.Strong grasp of Unix-based operating systems, particularly Linux.AWS certification such as Solutions Architect or DevOps.Experience working within an Agile environment. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or a related field.
