API Developer (Java & Springboot)

The APPLICATION INTEGRATION DEVELOPER is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications and APIs that enable digital services and core healthcare platforms. This role supports system implementation initiatives across the organization. The role includes hands-on API and integration development during project implementation, as well as Level 3 production support, issue resolution, and small enhancement delivery after go-live. The developer works closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure stable, scalable, and secure application services aligned with organizational and operational objectives. Job Responsibilities API Development & System Integration ● Design, develop, test, and maintain APIs and integration services between enterprise applications and external systems. ● Support implementation and integration activities involving Oracle IDP, Oracle OHI, Super App platforms, and related digital solutions. ● Develop RESTful APIs, service integrations, and middleware components based on business and technical requirements. ● Collaborate with Business Analysts and solution teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and system interfaces. ● Ensure APIs and integrations comply with security, performance, and enterprise architecture standards. ● Perform unit testing, integration testing, and deployment support for developed components. Application Development & Enhancement Support ● Develop application enhancements, bug fixes, and technical improvements for production systems. ● Analyze and resolve application defects, system issues, and integration failures. ● Support change requests and minor enhancements following approved SDLC and change management processes. ● Participate in sprint activities, technical design reviews, and development planning sessions. ● Ensure source code versioning, documentation, and deployment procedures are properly maintained. ● Support system optimization and automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reliability. Production Support & Optimization ● Provide Level 3 production support for enterprise and digital applications. ● Investigate production incidents, root causes, and system performance issues within agreed service levels. ● Coordinate with infrastructure teams, vendors, and support teams during incident resolution and deployment activities. ● Monitor application logs, integration queues, APIs, and batch processes to ensure system stability. ● Support production deployment, release management, and post-implementation validation activities. ● Participate in on-call or critical issue support activities when required. Performance & Security ● Optimize Core Web Vitals (caching, image compression, CDN integration, and minification). ● Implement security best practices to protect against SQL injections, XSS, and brute force attacks. ● Manage a staging-to-production workflow to ensure zero downtime during core updates. ● Remediation of all security findings that will be requested by internal or external security teams. STANDARD RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS ● Strives to embody, commits to support, and deliver the quality policy, objectives and initiatives of the organization; ● Communicates, engages, directs, and supports people to contribute to the Governance and Resilience effectiveness; ● Demonstrates commitment to customers by ensuring applicable statutory and regulatory requirements are determined, understood and consistently met; ● Abides by the Governance and Resilience policies and procedures for the effective management and control of its processes; and ● Promotes and utilizes the Process Approach and Risk-based Thinking at work. ● Performs other RELATED functions that may be assigned BY THE IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR Education and Experience ● Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. ● 3–5+ years of experience in application development, API integration, or production support within enterprise IT environments. ● Experience supporting production systems, incident management, and root cause analysis. ● Experience with Oracle platforms, enterprise integrations, and cloud-based solutions is an advantage. ● Experience working with enterprise applications, middleware, and integration platforms. ● Experience with source control and DevOps tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar technologies. ● Strong experience in API development, RESTful services, and system integrations. ● Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and software development best practices. Technical Requirements Front-End & UX ● Familiar with at least one modern JavaScript framework (Next.js, Nuxt, React, or Vue) ● Comfortable consuming REST APIs and handling basic state management ● Able to work within an existing design system and reusable UI components ● Working knowledge of UI/UX tools like Figma is a plus Back-End ● Solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and clean code fundamentals ● Build and maintain REST APIs using Spring Boot (Kotlin/Java), Node.js, or FastAPI (Python) ● Experience integrating with third-party and partner APIs ● Design and implement business logic, input validation, and error handling ● Build and maintain Docker images for backend services ● Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL required; MongoDB a plus) ● Use Redis for caching and basic background/job-queue processing ● Debug API issues using logs and application metrics DevOps / Platform (Basic to Intermediate) ● Deploy and run services in containerized environments ● Understand core CI/CD concepts and deployment flows ● Comfortable working across both Linux and Windows environments
